Starter & Underlayments

MFM Starter and Underlayments are the first layers of protection against the weather conditions on your roof. MFM Shingle Starter Strips are self-adhering, starter course strips that eliminate the need to cut shingle tabs. Shingle starters also prevent damage from ice dams and come with a sealing strip to prevent wind uplift at the roof edge.

MFM Underlayments like the Wind and Water Seal and the Wind and Water Seal HT are composed of a rubberized asphalt adhesive that helps seal out wind-driven rain and ice dams. These underlayments are optimal for secondary waterproofing. MFM Premium HT Tile and Metal Underlayment is composed of a high-grade polyester fabric that is laminated to a high-temperature asphalt adhesive. This asphalt adhesive system features a fiberglass-reinforced core and is rated to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. All MFM Starter and Underlayments are quick and easy and self-seal around fasteners.
