MFM Window Flashing Systems

MFM Peel and Seal

MFM window flashing systems are strong, sound reducing, air, insect, and waterproof sealants that each have a unique quality about them. Some qualities include white polymer film, mold and mildew protection, adhesive butyl rubber, flex material, an aluminum surface, industrial adhesive, as well as many others. MFM window and door flashings are designed to be applied to windows, doors, and building joints beneath the primary siding. Some MFM flashings are made to seal vents and other exterior openings as well as joints, however, not all flashings can be applied over flexible vinyl gaskets. All of the MFM window and door flashings tend to be self-sealing around common fasteners, like nails and staples, to help maintain a completely sealed, waterproof barrier. MFM flashings are typically compatible with most sealants and primers and can be applied to many surfaces, such as plywood, OSB, foam insulation, house-wrap, rigid vinyl, masonry, concrete, most metals, drywall, and many others.

PowerBond window flashings tend to be stronger and adhere to easier in cold weather. PowerBond can be left uncovered for anywhere from 90-180 days, depending on which style you choose. Butyl window flashings remain aggressive through a broad temperature range and tend to be comprised of a sturdy rubber adhesive that can withstand more than the average. All flashings are self-adhering membranes that are ideal for secondary water resistance.
