Description
Air Vent AirHawk Square Air Vents are easily installed on your roof. They provide ventilation for your attic. When used in conjunction with other attic vents, they can greatly reduce the heat in your attic in the warmer months. Reducing the temperate of your attic is beneficial in in many ways. It can keep your whole house cooler and reduce your electric bills from running the air conditioning. It can also save you money in the long run by extending the life of your shingles because, when your attic gets too hot it can cause your shingles to wear out faster. Investing in good attic ventilation now can keep more money in your pockets for years to come.
Design Considerations:
- According to federal guidelines, homes require 1 square foot
of net free area (the total unobstructed area through which air can
enter or exhaust a non-powered vent) for every 150 square feet of attic
floor space. If balanced between intake and exhaust vents, the
requirement is 1 square foot of net free area for every 300 square feet
of attic floor space.
- Multiple roof vents are usually needed to provide the required net free area.
- Must be spaced equally over roof to provide sufficient airflow along the entire roof sheathing.
