Flooring Tools & Accessories

Grout floats, mixers, and trowels are three of the most important tools to have when tiling. Before you can begin tiling, it’s a good idea to have a decent mixer. 28 inch beater mixers are widely used when mixing grouts, thinset tile mortars, speedset repair mortars, and other powder based concrete. Trowels are used to spread the adhesive that binds tile to its surface. The 1/4 V notch trowels dispense less mortar, and are commonly used for smaller tiles. Alternatively, the 3/8 square notch trowels dispense more mortar, and create more space to push the adhesive down, which is ideal when laying large tile. While you are laying your tile, it is important for you to check that your tiles are level. Horseshoe shims can correct alignment issues and prevent lippage. They are available in 1/8 and 1/16 inch sizes. Once you are done adhering tiles and the mortar has cured, it will be time to grout your tile. Purchasing a quality grout float when applying the mixture could be the difference between a job well done and a scratched and scuffed wall. The Troxell 4 Inch x 9 Inch Solid Urethane Grout Float is a durable, professional grade alternative to the standard rubber float. It is easy to clean and can be used through the entirety of the grouting process. After the grout is cured, you can finish up the job using the Troxell Jumbo Hydro Sponge to wipe away grout residue in general areas and the Troxell Trox Square Cut Microcell Grout Sponge for hard to reach spaces.
